As we eagerly await the 25cm of snow forecast for tomorrow (yes!), I'm thinking about all things white. Our house is painted in shades such as Old White and Cornforth White, neither of which are actually white. The living room (Old White) is greenish, and feels sludgy and dark as it only gets late afternoon/evening sun.
So, the time has come to paint it all white. Real white. Snow white. Like this beautiful house pictured above. Have you ever seen anything more beautiful? I love that the starkness of the white walls and floors is softened with the beaten up furniture, the tones and textures of marble, all those colourful pictures and textiles, and well-chosen lighting. Full of life. Perfect.

How beautiful -- that kitchen is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, isn't it?
DeleteGorgeous! I've always loved white as a base for rooms...adding pops of colour to it through textiles & furniture makes it easy to brighten or mute the colours to suit my mood without repainting all the time. Bring on the paint...and the snow! x
ReplyDeleteLOVE! We have Wickes trade paint - pure brilliant white on our walls. It is perfect. The whitest of white, yet warm. AND it's not bad price either! Our floor upstairs is painted white and we used Ronseal diamond hard white floor paint. Do it.. it really makes house light and your beautiful things shine. - Oh and that kids bedroom is my inspiration for doing up the boys room... but with tall beds and large storage underneath. x
ReplyDeleteGreat, isn't it? x
Deletei absolutely adore this kind of look {and am always pinning rooms with white walls, vintage finds and pops of colour on pinterest!} and can't wait until we can turn this knackered old house into something unique, eclectic, beautiful. and largely white.

DeleteLovely whites. We have cornforth white at home - on the stairs and fireplace - a lovely grey. F&B Strong white on the walls which aren't too stark white but with a slight grey tone. xx
